Babies on the brain...too much

The wedding isn't even until next summer and my fiance is already talking kids. She's two years older than I am and is freaking out that if we don't start trying for kids right away, she'll be over 30 when we have our first one. Her sister had trouble getting pregnant and ending up seeking out fertility services in Grand Rapids and I think that's what she's so worried about. I'm all for kids, but I was just hoping to be married for awhile and travel a bit before we really settle down to a family. I know infertility can be hereditary, but I wish she would just relax and stop researching fertility services in Grand Rapids when she should be researching honeymoon spots. 

Nascar - camping, crashes and crazy fans!

I have been hearing Nascar fans everywhere talk about the crashes at Talladega Superspeedway and I am bummed that I missed the race! I was stuck checking out halls with my fiance. It seems like I have missed a lot of guys' weekends lately so I'm hoping after the wedding, things will settle down. 

I was able to log onto a few great Nascar fan sites that had videos of the crash, but it just isn't the same. You have to be there in-person. The clouds of smoke and smell of burnt rubber -- that's the best smell. It's like the whole crowd of fans hears the crash and instantly cranes their neck to see who was involved. 

My buddies and I usually make it out to at least one race a year. When the cars get close to hitting, we just all start yelling "Oooo!" It's just nice to get away from the women for a bit and do a little camping. Everyone is there for the same reason and it ends up being one big party. There are definitely some crazy Nascar fans out there!
